I had a perm and a haircut at Great Clips in Albany, OR yesterday. The operator doing my hair had LONG nails and could hardly wrap my hair, and she wanted to roll it forward, not back, which is the way I comb my hair. She said I would get breakage and I told her I'd take my chances.

THEN, after the perm, she gave me a HC! Usually, the operator uses #3 clipper on the lower back and just over my ears. She went whipping over my ears before I could say anything. So, now I have a blob of sort of curls on the top of my head and the rest of my hair is, maybe, 1/8 inch long!!

This is my first BAD haircut there but I will never ever accept this huge operator with long nails again, who doesn't listen nor pay attention to me, the customer. I am utterly disgusted, to say the least. Guess you get what you pay for!! I might add, I too, am a beautician, which I never mentioned, so she certainly was not intimidated.

I had had a bad day and all I wanted some "positive" in it and having my hair done usually does the trick. Needless to say, I went home despondent.

I really have pretty hair and take pride in it and if this operator was working for me, she would be fired and gone in a heart beat.

Location: Portland, Oregon

I got a hair cut and my bangs were in the shape of an A and I was so unhappy with it I will never go there again :(

I by far got the worst haircut here; since I had $5.00 coupons, I felt like it was an amazing deal for a haircut. I went in and the lady that cut my hair was very nice, but she talked way too much and seemed like she focused more in our conversation than actually cutting my hair properly.

I asked for a fohawk, but I ended up getting a messed up buzz cut / fohawk I really don't know how to describe it.

The environment, however, is very friendly and is spacious. It's just that I got the worst haircut ever.

Honey as a "Beautician" you should know that term isn't used anymore, unless you're 90 years old. Now you are called a hair stylist or cosmetologist.

Also as a self proclaimed professional in the business you should understand that Great Clips primarily does hair cuts. They love to do clipper cuts. They force their employees to do a men's haircut in under 15 minutes or they pay is effected. Also they hate doing perms. They hate them so much they require an appointment to do them when anyone can walk it without an appointment for a haircut. They hate doing them so much they keep track of who did a perm last and they assign it to the next person.

If you want a great style and perm, go to a traditional salon. Great clips has an excellent business model for quick in and out hair cuts. They don't even really want to blow dry your hair, they send most people out still wet.

You are very wrong. I have been a stylist for 31 yrs, and I have worked for Great Clips for 13 yrs. We do not force our employees to do haircuts in less then 15 minutes, our standards are 13-17 minutes on average. Our pay is not effected if we take longer on a haircut.

We do not hate perms, in fact some stylist love doing them. We do them by appt because we want to make sure we have enough stylist on so that our customers don't have to wait to long.

We are more then happy to blow dry customers hair in fact we are to blow dry every customers hair 80% dry without a charge. If a customer wants a style then we have a charge for that. We let the customer decide what they want to get and pay for, this is why our cuts are so inexpensive. Traditional salons charge more, they wash, cut and dry and charge just as much even if the customer doesn't want a shampoo or a blow dry.

So my advice to you is know what your talking about before you talk....Just saying!

If you are a hairstylist why in the world would you go to a place like this? I'm a stylist too and would never go to one of these! You get what you pay for!

I have known stylist that just graduated beauty college that go to work in a traditional salon that charges a lot and they don't know how to cut hair for ***.

I manage a Great Clips salon and have for 13 yrs, I do technical interviews on every stylist I interview. If they cant cut hair to my standards, which are very high, they will not get a job at this Great Clips.

I have known many stylist that have been working in salons for many years that cant cut hair at all. I've had stylist that work or worked in the traditional salons that do a horrible job.

Not all stylist use razors, all you have to do is let the stylist know you don't like nor want a razor cut. Personally I agree with you, I hate razor cuts and have never seen a razor cut I liked. I won't do them at all.

Worst hair cut ever wasn't even in the chair for 10 minutes she didn't section my hair or even put a parting in half My hair is longer than the other half it's not straight and just looks awful Im so upset right now im going out for my

Birthday and have no time to get it fixed trust me I will tell everyone how bad 'great clips' is!

Only stylist just out of beauty school should be parting off the hair. A stylist that has done hair for a long time doesn't normally section the hair, it has nothing to do with your bad cut, you just had a stylist that cant cut hair.

I went to Great Clips (should be called Bad Clips) because I wanted to try bangs and I figured its just bangs how hard could it be? The *** that cut my hair said I should add layers to even out my hair.

however she only put layers on the left side of my head and not on the right. Then decided I needed some layers about 4 inches long on the top of my head so I am now an owner of a mullet. I was so upset when I left there I went home and cried.

I will never get my haircut again, let alone get it cut there. My hair is so uneven in everyway.

Today I went to great clips the person cutting my hair was told not to cut by side burns instead she completely shaved it. I told her say bye to your tip.

Then she says you have to give her a tip, forcing people to pay tip for a job done wrong. Last time I go to great clip in rockford il

So the stylist accidentally cut your sideburns? And then you threaten and reprimand her by directly revoking your tip?

Do you feel better now? In all honesty, how much would you have tipped anyway? $1? $2?

And how do you know she didn't just get distracted because of something bad happening in her personal life? Calm down, Francis, your sideburns will grow back. In the meantime, pump your brakes with the condescending remarks. You're just as cheap as the next 20 customers...no tip from you?

Trust me, we won't lose any sleep over it. :roll

I don't like getting my hair cut, but I had really bad split ends so I had to get it cut. Well, the woman cutting my hair asked how I'd like it cut.

I told her to cut it the same way I had it, only a few inches shorter. And if she could redo the layers, that'd be nice.

This *** strsighcut it the whole way around, and only layered the back. It looks so *** retarded!

Great clips sucks. I'm never going there again.

***, I'm never going anywhere to get it cut again. I'll get my sister to do it, at least she knows what I like.

I have been working for g.c. For over three years determnow and have been doing hair for 6.

I have worked in other "more expensive" salons and the truth of the matter is that we do triple the amount of hair cuts, thus we have triple the experience doing hair cuts . Stylist are all required to complete the same schooling so to say where a stylist chooses to work determines how well they cut hair is pretty uneducated. When paying more for a haircut you are actually paying for the bottle of water before your service and the unrequired 45 minutes of small talk and sometimes venting about you're divorce or whatever else no one else you know will listen to you about. I have participated in.and placed in several haircutting competitions and choose to work st gc because they pay you to bj to training, out is a booming and busy salon, and the stylistthey have a.system that continually helps you tip become a better stylist.

To say one bad stylist means gc as a whole sucks is also uneducated, as is paying 45 dollars for a haircut. You may as well just invest in a counsler because that is most likely what you re using the "expensive" hair dresser for.

My son and I went to Great Clips in Falls Church VA at 7395 Lee Hwy in the month of October. Within a few minutes of his haircut, my 7 year started screaming.

The lady had cut his ear, it was bleeding, but she did not cut a piece of luckily. Emailed a complaint to their headquarters and they sent a generic response.

I used their service once and will never visit their stores even if they were giving free haircuts. Really bad service and we had an awful experience.
