What is wrong with these people, I have been to great clips several times and usually leave. They always want my phone number, it is MY number and should NEVER be asked for it, I am not buying a car or being financed.

I is so intrusive and will never go again, I am in enough databases and do not want to be solicited by telemarketers. They say it stays in the computer but I know better, companies sell your numbers to telemarketers. I am sick and tired of being asked for my number every time I walk in, it is none of their business. If they want to track customers, they should use their own format to identify people.

I am done with great clips for good.

I usually leave pissed that I waisted my time, again. I tell them every time not to ask for my number, then they ask for my last name, they just don't get it, people don't like being in a database.

Monetary Loss: $12.

Location: Camas, Washington

Same reasons Iโ€™ll never go to gc

I gave my phone number and address to them and they have it you stalker, very mature.

Great Clips does not sell your number. It is there to show what has been done the last time you got your hair cut.

Almost any salon you go to will ask for it.

They are just doing their job and asking for the number. They see multiple people in a day what makes you think they want to remember you?

That's wrong. They do sell your information.

I purchased it for my businesses. So please don't respond if your not up to par. This is why I don't use their services.

Their app is also is selling your contact list of your people without their consent. We call that backdoor marketing

I agree. All she has to do is refuse to give her number. If they refuse to cut her hair go elsewhere.

I went to GC in Martinez, CA and I was stupid enough to give them my home number. The next day a telemarketer called me. Be wary

Guest

Ummm ... give them a fake one.

Reverse the last to digits or something easy like that.

There was a (now closed) hardware store here that always asked for a phone number.

"For our sales dept to analyze" ... they said.

What they did was sell them to contractors who, of course, always called.

Last time I went in there I gave them : 1-800-no way

Done with Great Clips, There are plenty of independent hair cutters and you will most always get a better hair cut for the same price or less and All they ask for is your first name.

Guest

I stopped going there because they refused to give me a cut until I gave them my phone number. Said they need it for 'card' so they know how to cut.

Why not simply ask me. I'm there .... I'm always with my hair.

I don't send it out for a cut.

Guest

I stopped going. They use to be fine with just my first name.

Last time I went (Salem NH) they wouldn't give me a cut unless I gave them my full name and phone. I walked and never went back. Who do they think they are. It's very intrusive.

I don't need to be tracked. I don't need thousands of e-mails.

I don't need unsolicited phone calls.

I agree! Why the *** do they need my phone number?!

If you think they aren't selling your number, you're nuts!

I swear that my son was just almost denied service because I wouldn't let him give his address.

I will not use Great Clips again.

There is absolutely no reason that Great Clips needs to have your phone number, name, address, zip code or any personal information about you. It's an invasion privacy.

More and more companies are collecting personal information and using it to send you junk mail and sell your information to telemarketers. Even if you just give out your zip code after using your credit card merchants have a way of obtaining all of your personal information. I see comments on here from Great Clips employees that don't see any harm in it but they are being naive.

Not to mention that the computers that all this information is stored on can be hacked into, or stolen by a disgruntled employee and used to steal peoples identity. This happens more often than you might think.

No one gives a d@***n what your number is!

I went to GC recently and my normal stylist was not there. I agreed to see whoever was available, and by pulling up my phone number, the replacement stylist was able to read notes about what my stylist usually does for me.

I have no problems giving my name and phone number. Never have had a problem.

God, thank you. At least someone gets that it is literally to keep track of haircuts. I don't care enough to actually keep track of customers.

this is exactly what it is used for! thank you for having a brain!

If enough of us do NOT comply with giving them your personal information they may stop this *** policy. I just told them it was against my policy to participate in data mining.

This phone number thing is getting old. My number is private, so when I told that to the receptionist, she asked for my last name.

In interest of privacy, I told her that I don't give that information or my Social Security Number. She was pissed. The store was empty other than me, two hair stylists and another customer in back of me. I was told to have a seat.

Really! "I have to wait because I won't give my phone number", I said. She looked at me and knew I was ready to Walk.

Jeese Great Clips, get over the Phone number thing, get with the times and RESPECT peoples privacy! OK?

Guest

Im a receptionist at Great Clips and I get to hear this from people All The time! Its my Job to ask you that!

If you dont want to give it to us thats fine. Why be rude about it?? you can just give us your first name. we dont do anything with your phone number.

Its only to help make sure you get The Hair cut you want or The stylist you had last time whose name you cant remember.

Its to help you and make things easier. Next time maybe you should just say รขโ‚ฌยi dont give that out but my first name is.....รขโ‚ฌย You dont want to *** off The person thats cutting your hair
