I had a deeply disappointing and discriminatory experience at the Great Clips located at 4030 N Hwy 29, Newnan, GA 30265. This location appears to have a double standard when it comes to the services they offer to Black women.
While they offer perms for Caucasian women, they do not provide equivalent services for Black women. I visited this location seeking a roller set, a basic and common service. Although I brought my own rollers and the stylist was willing to complete the service, the manager told him he could not do my hair. The stylist expressed discomfort, saying he wouldn't ask me to leave since I was already there, but ultimately, the service was denied.
When I asked the manager why services were being offered to one race and not another, she simply said, 'That's just the policy.' She identified herself as the manager and directed me to customer service. After calling, I was told the owner would contact me. When the owner reached out, I explained the situation. She told me they only offer perms and could not accommodate my needs.
She also claimed she would discontinue perms for Caucasian customers entirely. However, when I returned a month later with my mother and son for haircuts, I witnessed a Caucasian customer receiving a perm—clearly contradicting her statement. This experience was frustrating, hurtful, and discriminatory.
It's clear that Black customers are not treated equally at this location. I will never support this Great Clips again, and I hope they reflect seriously on their policies and practices.

Great Clips, do better. I asked for a trim, and your stylist chopped off my hair.
This isn't the first time I've left one of your salons completely disappointed; it's always a gamble, and this time was the last straw. On top of that, the staff was rude.
Absolutely unacceptable. I will never return, and I strongly suggest you take a hard look at the people you're hiring.

Overcharged, which led to my purchase at the following store being declined. This is absolutely ridiculous.
A lack of professionalism and knowledge has led to embarrassment.
$20 haircut, $4 tip. My receipt even says $24, but my statement reflects $27.40.

Verified Reviewer |Lousy uneven hair cut plus I had to tell her to cut the front
I told the girl I only wanted an inch off but only a half inch on my bangs. She cut up to 3 inches off in some places on the back, and then never even cut the front.
So, I asked her if she was going to cut anything on the top and front. 'Oh, I didn't know you wanted any cut in the front. I said only a half inch on the bangs.' She cut off a good inch!
So, I asked if she was going to blend the angles on the side. She replied, 'Oh yeah, there are chunks out of one side of my hair and the lines aren't even straight.' I'm a retired hairstylist, so I know a bad cut when I see one.

Back in November I had a coupon for great clips and I went to my nearest location and the wait was longer than expected and the staff were rude. Bc of my negative experience I called great clips customer support a few days later where it took over half and hour to pick up my call only for them to make excuses on the slow response and when I told them they never sent the complaint to the location where I got the bad experience.
I called back that location recently and told them what happened and they told me they never got the complaint from the corporate offices showing that the customer service team there were lying little *** The good thing is that the management at this location were very understanding with me and if offering me a free haircut on my next visit to their location but if the damn customer service at great clips did their *** job right I wouldnt have had to settle with them independently. If you want to deal with customer service agents lying to you then you should use this if not then hopefully sport clips will treat you better.

Haircutter was rude!
The cutter was quick to tell me she had a limited amount of time. She was argumentative, rude, and mean.
Will never get another cut at Great Clips again. Back to my old Barber no matter how long I have to wait.

Friday 3/21/25 at 1330. I asked for a specific stylist and waited 30 plus minutes.
She finished the haircut she was working on and left. I waited and waited. If she was going to lunch, I understand but at least tell me. I won't be back.
I always tip very well and I'm sure another business would like to have me as a customer. Disappointed

My Son has a birthday in a couple days Went to get hair cut .. NOT A BUZZ CUT.So he went out in public where we (mother) met and said he didnt like it..
PPL WAANTED TO KNOW WHO AND WHERE. I doubt they will go there .
It wasnt even a haircut he paid TOP DOLLAR for!! They buzzed his head quickly and sent him out to freeze and look and feel badE
Embarrassing
The Great clips on Shelby street in Indianapolis, beware of Katie. She had a horrible attitude from the start.
She accused my grandson of having lice. He did not! As soon as we left the shop after she humiliated and brought him to tears. I took him elsewhere for his haircut, NO lice!
We collected his hair to be examined still no lice. So stay away from this awful woman.

I was in today to get my haircut and was told the prices have increased and that, as of Feb. 2025, they will no longer honor Military Discounts.
As a Retired Service Member, I can accept the pay increase because everything has gone up so I understand. What I will not or cannot accept is that they are doing away with the military discount. I mean, it is their right to do so but it is also my right to disagree with it and to stop using them. They have used the discount in their advertising and used the military to promote the business and now they are cutting it out.
So, all I will say is I hope they lose all of the Military customers and I will never set foot back in there again. I will find myself a local Barber to cut my hair.

To let people know that is not great clips that make the place great is the employees
i actually go to a regular salon but i meet Martin Thomas at great clips cobblestone plaza and i love it then i got Married and I have my kids and I brought them to Great Clips. Also, he always did an excellent haircut for my kids.
My whole family start coming here my brother, my sisters everybody, but I came to look up for him and he's no longer in Great Clips now the service sucks. Customer service is the worst. I tried to give a chance to another stylist to get a haircut for me, but it just damaged my haircut.

I went to GC @ 6517 E State Blvd in Fort Wayne, IN. Cortez, the assistant manager did not know how to shampoo my hair! He needs to be educated desperately! Kris came my rescue. She should be given$
I'm appalled that someone can be an assistant manager and dab at my hair rather than shampoo it! He said our corporate requires us to scrub with the conditioner not the shampoo!
Then once the conditioner was on he never shampooed the back at all. I don't want him demoted, but taught!!!
Great customer service
I am 80 yrs old. For medical reasons I have to wear a wig.
The wig I received did not look good, so I went to great clips in Burleson. TX and saw ZENA@ She was uncomfortable cutting it on my head, instead of a wig form, but agreed to do it for me!
I have never had such a wonderful experience! From start to finish!

I went for a haircut for my girls at Great Clips in *** (Green Corner). There was a hair stylist, Ren, who showed attitude when I requested her to apply the coupon for the haircut.
She also seemed upset because I gave her a $2 tip; she was expecting more. Very bad attitude.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
Also,a schedule that was promised to me that I was able to work but ended up working a schedule that was not workable and responsibility closing numerous evenings that was not agreed upon prior to my hire date. I was offered a position working for a well professional establishment and a schedule that is workable and an hourly pay that i agreed upon which is way better considering my experience. I did leave Great clips because had no choice and just knew I would accumulate debt that I could not get out of. Not only did I had to leave but the owner was extremely rude and therefore I have not received my final paycheck that he owes me due to hours I worked for him even though it was not a workable situation and not agreed upon closing several evenings and the responsibilities of closing and handling money and just started this job and knew that no other employee was wanting all the responsibilities.
Overall nightmare and a bad situation I put myself in. Here's the address and I'm filing a complaint because Great clips should be aware of how this may affect there reputation!

You are ASHAMED of being black. I doubt that they only do white people's perms. If this were the case they would have been sued a long time ago.
You were probably asking for something special. they did not give it to you so you are claiming it is because I am black.
Great Clips is the largest chain of discount hair salons. The people that work there are either new to the industry or do not possess the skills and ability to work at a higher end salon.
They often can barely cut a white person's hair, so why would a black person, who has more complex hair needs, entrust them to do a perm? I certainly would not!
Get on with your life. If it's so traumatic go elsewhere.
Can we extend this policy to businesses that primarily offer hair services to black women? I went with a black friend when she was getting her hair done and asked if I could get a haircut!

It’s not about excluding others, but about providing a needed service in an industry that hasn’t always been inclusive. That said, open dialogue and mutual understanding are key to moving forward respectfully.

Agree. Also OP isn’t weighing in. I wonder if there was an issue over pricing as a roller set is not a twenty minute in/out experience.
